Atlantis in Food (and photography?)

I am on a serious vacation hangover right now, so I need to get these pics up as fast as possible! After graduating, I went to the Bahamas with family, and then Ocean City Maryland with friends immidiately after (there’s not too much time left between now and real life, gotta pack it in). Great ten days, and now I go into detox for the next big summer event: Bonnaroo. (one week, AH!)

My family took a vacation to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas because we had a ton of things to celebrate, it was my brother Tom’s 21st birthday, my youngest brother John just graduated from High School, and I graduated from college. An all around family celebration. The best thing about our family vacations is the food, all of us love awesome food. (Except my mom; who has the weirdest food tastes on the planet – more on her to come) So, we usually go to some pretty great dinners.

The last time I was at the Atlantis, I was like 15 and the dining options were very limited. All I can remember is a couple buffets and a random Italian restaurant (if my memory serves me correctly…)

But this time, they have so many amazing restaurants including Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grille, Jean Georges’ Dune, Jean Georges’ Cafe Martinique, which was closed the days we were there..:( , and Nobu.

The first night we ate at Nobu:

I LOVE COLOR ACCENT WITH NEON

My favorite thing was the Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno on top, mmmmm!!!!! Everything else at Nobu was equally amazing, especially the Tempura. Well done sushi guys.

The second night we ate at Dune (at the Ocean Club, which just so happened to be at the same place the first scene of Casino Royale was filmed):

Ocean Club at night (testing out the low light setting on my new camera!)

Tomato Foccaccia

Fried Calamari

Steak Serloin with Ginger Reduction

The last night we ate at Mesa Grill, which was by far my favorite. The food was amazing at every place, but the Southwestern Ingredients used in the Mesa Grill menu are TO. DIE. FOR. Corn, cilantro, avocado, chiles, etc.

The decor of the restaurant was copper colored and very open and homey. I loved everything about my Mesa Grill experience!

Goat Cheese Queso Fundido

Shrimp and Garlic Corn Tamale – SERIOUSLY SO GOOD

Crispy Conch with Mango and Red Pepper Relish

I thought I had a picture of my breathtaking Chile Relleno stuffed with Machego and Eggplant (yes, I describe food as breathtaking) but I obviously ate it too fast to take a picture! Next time folks, next time.

Now back to normal life…
