Aquitaine on the Brain

Aquitaine, where have you been all my life? Oh right, on Tremont…for over a decade.

My recent realization of Aquitaine’s fabulousness has caused me an overwhelming amount of FOMO. FOMO = Fear of Missing Out. My friends coined the term because it explains the motivation behind many of our actions. FOMO can be applied to any situation, but for me it usually has to do with food. For example, if someone is going to a new restaurant, I will do anything in my power to go with them, because I don’t want to miss out on good food. That feeling is FOMO. Because of my FOMO, I will often make spontaneous decisions regardless of my bank account balance, food in my fridge at home, or in extreme cases, if I already had dinner. Yep, FOMO can be a very slippery slope…

Hold that thought, let’s talk brunch.

Aquitaine…mmmm. Aquitaine was great upbeat brunch, the kind you want to make a reservation and look cute for. We went a couple Saturdays ago for the first time, and I was more than impressed with the whole experience. Walking through the dining room is sensory overload, in the best way possible. Everything looks and smells so good, the staff is cheerful, loud music is playing and the dining room is bright. It actually puts you in a good mood before having coffee. I know, I thought it was impossible too. Oh, and the menu is perfect, everything one could want in a brunch and more (lunch, breakfast, sweet, salty, etc). What’s even better is Aquitaine offers a Saturday Brunch Prix Fixe option for $9.95 which gets you a cinnamon roll, an entrée and a coffee or juice between 10 and 11 am. Love it.

Benedict Provencal with avocado, tomato, hollandaise & fine herbs, and brunch potatoes. Tomato and runny eggs FTW.

Brioche french toast with crispy bacon, fresh blueberries, strawberries, & vanilla whipped cream. Fluffy and creamy, so good.

Is it just my guy friends, or are all boys obsessed with Steak and Eggs?

Back to the FOMO, I have had a particularly bad case since Aquitaine’s brunch. Aquitaine is on my brain, and the only way to stop the madness is to eat there again for lunch or dinner, very soon.

Key Takeaways:

  • Fun atmosphere
  • Great food
  • Moderate prices
  • Friendly staff

What more could you want?

Aquitaine is located at 569 Tremont Street.

Please make sure we go there sometime…this looks awesome.

My boyfriend loves steak but actually doesn’t like steak and eggs… go figure. It’s something I’d order though! I love that prix fixe option you described. My biggest struggle at brunch is deciding between sweet and savory. Oh, and I am so happy those poached eggs were runny!
