Food Porn Friday | Apple Crostada (with a side of Lydia Shire)

Christmas may have been last Saturday, but my family has got Christmas celebrations and family get-togethers on the books through the start of 2011.  Which means I’ll most likely have to invest in some elastic-waist pants asap seeing as last night was no different when we met some old friends for dinner at one of my absolute favorite Boston restaurants: Scampo. As always the dinner was flawless from start to finish, but my favorite was of course dessert! Scratch that, my favorite part of the meal was actually meeting Lydia Shire!!!

But my belly’s favorite part of the night, was in fact dessert! Oh Apple Crostada, how I adore you. Your burnt honey ice cream and that crispy apple chip. It’s like an adorable apple pie that can’t be contained in it’s buttery pastry shell, the apples just overflow. In the grand scheme of things it’s not a glutenous dessert, just the perfect mix of delicious flavors, an ideal end to a wintery dinner.
