Food Porn Fridays | Humboldt Fog Goat Cheese

The cheese plate from Olives was one of the best I’ve seen. Great selection, incorporating both hard and soft cheeses from various origins, HUGE portions and great accoutrements. (God I love grapes.) 4 of us couldn’t even come close to finishing this…

This cheese plate had brie, manchego, bleu, and a soft goat and cow mix. All were fab but none were more significant to me than the Humboldt Fog goat cheese from California. It was simply breathtaking.

It was so perfectly textured. The creamier layer around the outside was exploding out of the crust and the vegetable ash ran up the middle somehow making the white part even more beautiful. It had a smooth yet bold and tangy taste. My crostini must have been in heaven as I slathered it with this cheese. I know I was.

Humboldt Fog just came from behind and won the favorite cheese of January award. *golf clap*

  1. That is a very generous cheese platter. The one I just had at the Gallows was eensy weensy. (But I suppose I don’t need to eat a pound of cheese before dinner)
