MmmmMmm Steak Guarache! I myself am an amateur when it comes to being a chef. I may be head-over-heels for all things food, but I totally embrace my entry-level status in the world of cooking and fully appreciate having friends who are WAY better at it than me. And that’s where this delicious dish came from, my friend Luis.
Full-time chef (and part-time avatar) he hails from Mexico and is constantly wowing me with the awesomely simple yet beyond flavorful concoctions he comes up with that remind him of home. Plus I love when he uses lots of color, in this case, green! I know St. Patrick’s Day celebrations ended last week, but I couldn’t help loving the way this Steak Guarache looked layered with black beans, steak, lettuce, onion and avocado, topped with some fresh lemon, olive oil, habanero sauce, a little creme fraiche and some shaved Parmesan cheese. Thank god it’s almost lunch time, reliving this food moment in history is making me hunnnngry!
Yummm! This makes me so hungry! I love that he is part-time avatar.
I usually don’t crave steak or meat at all whatsoever. But you’ve officially changed that. Amazing.
