Food Porn Friday | Bucatini with Tomato and Bacon | Founding Farmers

bucatini with tomato and baconAfter Jacki’s rave reviews about Founding Farmers, I had to check it out when I was in DC a few weeks ago. Now I know why she’s obsessed, everything on the menu has bacon in it. Even the cocktails! My pasta was no exception…Bucatini with Tomato and Bacon, served with a poached egg on top. And you all know how I feel about poached egg on pasta anything. Really fucking good. Sorry, but it’s Friday, I’m slightly hungover and I really like poached eggs. Actually I’m not sorry.

The pasta could have used more tomatoes (but that’s my thought on just about everything, so take it for what it’s worth) but overall the combination of tomato, bacon and egg was simple but well-prepared and fresh, everything farm food should be.

Re: the bacon cocktail, or should I say spicy bacon cocktail.. the Bone is made with Knob Creek Bourbon, fresh lime juice, Tabasco, Bacon Lolli garnish. YUP. Try it. Love it. Mix the bacon all up in the drink. Eat liquor covered bacon. Debate whether or not it actually tastes good. Decide it does (because it’s spicy and bacon-y). Swallow. Repeat.

  1. Oh my. Gooey eggs on top of entrees are totally my new thing. If I wasn’t eating leftover pizza WITH a poached egg on it, I’d be mad about seeing this photo!
