2011 New England Dessert Showcase at the Sheraton

Well if it isn’t my old nemesis Monday morning here to remind me of the harsh reality that is the five day work week. Luckily this weekend provided a lotto fun and loads of carbs and calories to power me through the next few days. For those of you who don’t know, Meesh and I spent Saturday at the New England Dessert Showcase, talking about sweets, social media, and all things cheese!

But the main attraction at the showcase was the sweets. There were a lot of delicious desserts and boutique bakeries on hand, but I’d have to say I still think our friend Dan put out the best dessert – Chocolate Ganache, Peach Mascarpone and Candied Habaneros. Sounds unbelievable, and it was.

They’re quite classy and decadent, and not terribly difficult to make. You can find the recipe on his (appropriately named) website, The Food In My Beard.

Other favorites include Cake pops from O’Sugar! Cakery

and cupcakes!

And then there was the coconut sticky rice from Kuel…

Sigh

And Here’s some behind the scenes footage for ya from the night before, because making cheese displays out of Styrofoam is o so mach fun…

Oh and we’ve also got another surprise in store for Food Porn Friday…just wait!
