As promised in last Friday’s Food Porn, here are more photos from my night of face-stuffing at Taste of Cambridge 2012. Having been to Taste of Cambridge in the past, when it was held at The Charles Hotel, I must say I was really feeling the new outdoor location in University Park. Taking place last Tuesday, and magically avoiding the rain, the streets between Sidney and Brookline in Central Square were stocked with more food, beer and wine than one can possibly consume in a mere 3 hours.
The Mmmmaven Project was on hand to enhance the ambiance with music provided from some of it’s own DJ’s and Google + was all about the funny photo booth. It was THE food event of food events, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sad that it’s over, but alas, I can’t wait to see what they’ll have in store for us next year. And in case you missed out, check out some of the highlights from this year’s TOC below.
Pork was by FAR the most popular ingredient at the party, starting off with pork tacos from Abigails.
followed by Pork Sausage Sliders from Grafton St…
and Pork Belly BLTs from the new Park.
There were Arepas topped with pulled pork from Lord Hobo
followed by more pork tacos (Ole)…
At some point someone handed me a pork banh mi, which was YUMz, but I have no idea where it came from. Ooops.
So yeah, lots of pork. I know. Other Cambridge fave’s included the black bean veggie burger from Veggie Galaxy (although I prefer their chickpea one fo sho)
I absolutely adored, and was impressed, by Nubar‘s Lamb meatball. Savory and so so good.
Baby octopus over seaweed salad courtesy of Garden at the Cellar.
Some roasted pepper sangwiches
and Art Bar with the scallop ceviche.
There were chilled soups from Area Four
…and Russell House Tavern was dishing out Strawberry-Rhubarb and Aperol jello shots topped with spicy crab and Thai basil.
as well as waffles from Zinneken’s…
and Hob Knob Fluffernutters from my absolute faves over at Craigie on Main.
Whew. That was a lot. Now that I feel physcially ill from re-consuming all of this with my eyes for the second time, I’ll leave it to you to swoon and drool over the omnoms you see here. And let this be a lesson to anyone who missed the event this year not to be so foolish when 2013 rolls around. However, if you can’t bring yourself to wait another 12 months before indulging in tons of tasting awesomeness from your favorite restaurants, check out Chefs in Shorts coming up this Friday!
