Firefly On Paradise | Off The Strip In Las Vegas

Vegas has some fantastic restaurants on the Strip but they are all absurdly expensive. Unless of course you’re into buffets or staying at the Excalibur or something, in which case we might not be on the same page about anything ever. Strip restaurants are great for your one or two big nights out in Vegas, but if you’re ever in town and don’t want to blow all your money on an expensive dinner, I’ve got just the place for you – Firefly on Paradise.

pan con tomate

Tomato Bread – tomato, garlic, sherry vinegar

A short cab ride from Las Vegas Boulevard (maybe 8 bucks) and you get delicious and authentic Spanish Tapas in a fun, casual atmosphere. Sometimes they even have a live Spanish guitar player!

The prices are insanely cheap compared to the the restaurants in the major hotels. Last time I went we had a party of five people, ate a ton, drank two pitchers of sangria, and the bill came out to $150 total. The same group of five eating and drinking on the Strip the night before was around $400, and the place wasn’t even that pricey in comparison to some of the others.

Camarones al Ajillo – shrimp in lemon garlic butter sauce

And the food! No frills, nothing fancy, just straight up good tapas. A lot of the dishes and flavors remind me of Spain, especially the tomato bread.

Last time we were there my Dad actually claimed that Firefly was the best restaurant he had ever been to. Of couse he had a few glasses of sangria, but he has had countless great experiences and even takes some of his biggest clients there when he goes out for work.

Albondingas – meatballs in a sherry tomato sauce with Parmesan

P.S — the OTHER location of Firefly was on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares for service issues, not this one. According to this Chowhound thread, it is nothing like the Paradise location. Phew.
